As families celebrate the arrival of a newborn, the tradition of Aqiqah offers an opportunity to express gratitude and share blessings with the community. Our Aqiqah Donations Campaign, “Nourishing Bonds, Nurturing Lives,” extends this tradition of generosity to those in need, ensuring that every child receives the love and care they deserve.

Aqiqah in Islam

With your support, we can provide essential nourishment and support to vulnerable families, offering them a sense of security and hope for the future. Through our Aqiqah Donations Campaign, you have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families in need.

Aqiqah involves the sacrifice of one or two animals, depending on the gender of the child. For a boy, two animals (usually sheep or goats) are sacrificed, and for a girl, one animal is sacrificed.

The animals to be sacrificed should be healthy and free from defects. Sheep or goats are the most commonly sacrificed animals for Aqiqah, but in some cases, other permissible animals such as cows or camels may also be used.

The meat from the sacrificed animals is divided into three parts: one-third is given to the poor and needy, one-third is given to relatives and friends, and one-third is retained for the family’s consumption.
